Our comprehensive pool safety services

Redlands Pool Safety and Compliance offers a range of expert inspection services tailored to ensure your pool is fully compliant with all QLD safety regulations. Our approach is thorough, detailed, and focused on the safety of children and your peace of mind.

Barrier & gate integrity

We ensure that all pool barriers and access gates are in proper working order, providing robust protection and compliance for your pool area.

Pool gates must:

  • not open towards the pool
  • be self-closing
  • self-latch from any open position.

It's important to always keep the gate shut. This will stop young children from accessing the pool unsupervised.

No climb zone checks

Rigorous inspection for any climbable objects within the No Climb Zone (NCZ) to ensure child safety and prevent unsafe access.

The pool safety standard requires fences to have continuous 900mm non-climbable zones, areas that cannot be climbed by a small child.

For pool fences under 1800mm in height, the standard also requires a clear area to be maintained on the inside of the fence, directly adjacent to the external non-climbable zone. This means moving anything that would make the fence easy to climb:

  • 900mm away from the outside of the fence
  • 300mm away from the inside.

Structural assessment & minor repairs

We check the strength and rigidity of your fences and posts. We can also provide minor repairs to gates, child safety locks, and barriers for immediate compliance.

Pool safety laws refer to pool barriers, which includes gates. We use the term pool fence, and this can be made of a range of components that restrict access to the pool, including:

  • fences
  • posts and panels
  • gate units
  • gates and door sets
  • built or natural walls, including retaining walls
  • sides of buildings
  • balustrades of a balcony.

Committed to your peace of mind

Anyone who props a pool gate open, or otherwise interferes with a pool barrier such that it no longer complies with the standard, commits an offence under the Building Act 1975 and can be issued a fine or prosecuted in a magistrates court.

If you live Remotely, we can help via a video call.

We can assist you in getting your pool or spa inspected via a video call. You will need to be able to help with the process of measurements and tests needed for the Form 23.

Local councils have the authority to declare specific areas as "remote" to reduce the financial burden on pool owners.

  • Remote Inspection Process: If a pool is in a declared remote area, special arrangements may apply to the inspection process.
  • Compliance Still Necessary: Even in remote areas, a pool safety inspector must be engaged to inspect the pool and ensure it meets the required safety standards.
